One-to-one wellbeing coaching
Cora offers one-to-one wellbeing coaching for women caring for a parent with dementia.
Coaching gives you time to step back from everything you are managing and focus on your own wellbeing. We can look at what is happening now, what is taking the most out of you, and what might help you feel better supported.
That might mean working on stress, sleep, burnout, boundaries, menopause, health habits or making more room for yourself alongside your caring responsibilities.
It is practical and collaborative. I won't tell you what you should be doing. We'll work out what matters to you and what is realistic for your life.
-
Your first session gives us time to look at the bigger picture.
We'll talk about what is happening for you, what is affecting your wellbeing most and where you would like things to feel different.
From there, we can identify the areas that would be most useful to work on.
-
Follow-up sessions give us space to keep working on what matters to you.
Some sessions might be more reflective. Others might be very practical. What we focus on can change as your circumstances change.
You can book sessions as you need them.
-
For women who would like some continuity rather than booking one session at a time.
A package gives us more time to understand what is contributing to the pressure you're under, try different strategies and adjust them as we go.
“We spend so much time thinking about how to care well for others. Cora is about caring well for the person doing the caring.”

Wellbeing coaching is a practical, collaborative form of support focused on what is happening in your life now, what you would like to change and what might help.
For carers, that can include burnout, stress, sleep, menopause, boundaries, routines, health habits and making more room for your own wellbeing.
-
No. Coaching and counselling can overlap in some of the things people talk about, but they are different forms of support.
Coaching is generally more focused on the present and future, practical change and helping you identify what may support your wellbeing.
It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
-
Yes.
Caring for a parent with dementia can involve grief, guilt, frustration, resentment, worry and a lot of change. Those experiences can absolutely be part of our conversations.
The focus remains on supporting your wellbeing and helping you work out what you need now.
-
If it becomes clear that what you are dealing with sits outside the scope of coaching, I will be open with you about that and encourage you to connect with an appropriately qualified health or mental health professional.
-
Yes. Cora can work alongside other forms of care as part of a collaborative approach.
Coaching has a different role from counselling, psychology or medical treatment. While those services may focus on diagnosis, treatment or deeper therapeutic work, coaching can support you with the practical, day-to-day aspects of wellbeing such as stress, sleep, routines, behaviour change, boundaries and making sustainable changes.
Where appropriate, coaching can complement the care you are already receiving, with each practitioner working within their own scope.
If there is ever a need for information to be shared between providers, that would only happen with your consent.
-
No. You can book wellbeing coaching directly without a referral.
-
No.
You do not have to wait until things feel unmanageable. Coaching can also be useful if you are starting to notice that caring is affecting your sleep, stress, energy, relationships or health and you want to make changes earlier.
-
There is no set number.
Some people may find one or two sessions useful. Others may want ongoing support for a period of time.
We can decide that based on what you need.

Private health insurance cover varies, and most policies do not include coaching services. If you are unsure, check with your insurer before booking.
